Elementary, middle, and high schools across the country are shutting down for weeks, some even canceling the rest of their school years. After school programs are ending, sports teams are canceling their games, school dances, graduations, the world in which young people operate has shut down.
It is easy to look at trivial things like a canceled prom and disregard it. There are larger issues affecting larger groups of people that need our attention, but so do our young people. Children are living through this time alongside adults. They are grieving losses too.
